Is this a safe ‘no moving parts’ highchair? Is NEST® height adjustable Will baby feel comfortable and supported in Nest®? We recommend NEST® is used only by children who are able to sit upright unassisted. This can vary from child to child but it will usually be from around the age of 6 to 9 months. What about the stability of Nest®?
Yes – research indicates that moving parts are the primary cause of child injuries therefore NEST® has been thoughtfully designed so that the height is fixed to suit standard dining tables of (730mm). There are no moving parts.
NEST was specifically designed around a major consumer magazine review of high chairs. Research indicates that moving parts are the primary cause for child injuries. This has led us to design which does not incorporate any moving parts. Nest is therefore not height adjustable. The chair is designed to fit a standard height table (730mm).
The scooped seat with gently sloping back restrict movement by cupping your little one into a ‘racing car position’ The smooth, organic lines of Nest® eliminate any possibility of skin pinching.
With 65% of the total chair weight of 11.5kgs (24.5lbs) in the centrally balanced, stainless steel base Nest® is exceptionally stable and its simple, tulip base design ensures there’s no tripping hazard.
Does NEST® meet international safety standards
NEST® is compliant with the international standard for high chairs ISO 9221 and Nest boost (booster configuration) also complies with the US safety standard F404.
Can I use NEST® without a tray?
Absolutely. Once your child is ready to join the biggies at the table you can very easily change NEST® into a booster seat by removing the tray. Your toddler will be able to join the rest of the family as Nest will fit with any standard height dining room table.
What does the 3 in 1 configuration mean exactly?
NEST® has been designed to grow with your child from 6 months upto at least 6 years – although we have seen 9 year olds sit very happily in Nester.
Specifically there are 3 configurations possible;
NEST® Dine is the configuration of the chair with tray – from approximately 6 months (or when your child can sit upright unassisted) to approximately 2 years
By removing the tray Nest Dine becomes NEST® Boost suitable from approximately 2 to 4 years. At this age your child will probably be ready to join you at the family dining table. Nest Boost means your tod can sit and eat comfortably at any standard height dining table.
Toddlers and young children love the low chair configuration Nester. Conversion is simple and takes just minutes. Just remove the cylinder and replace it with the conversion disk included with your chair. The disk allow you to fit the seat directly on the tulip shaped base of the chair – instantly converting it to a low chair.
Keep the cylinder in case you want to change the Nester back to a high chair at a later date.
The Nester usually suits your child until the age of 6 but we’ve seen 9 year olds sit in it very happily.
Which materials are used for NEST®
The tray and seat are made of UV Stabilised polyethylene and the base is made of heavy duty powder coated steel.
Is the tray removable?
Yes the tray is removable to facilitate easy cleaning. Just be careful not to submerge the tray in water and do not place it in a dishwasher.
The tray is not designed to restrain the child in the NEST® so it is imperative that the child always secured by the 5 point harness that comes with the NEST®.
What is the best way to clean NEST®
NEST® has been designed with a one step easy clean action in mind. Simply wipe the seat and tray after each use with a moist cloth. This is especially advisable if your child has eaten foods that have high colour content (for example tomato based sauces).
If you wish you can periodically use some none abrasive cleaners. The base can be wiped down in the same way. Do not place any part of NEST® in a dishwasher.
Rotationally moulded polyethylene parts such as the tray and seat of Nest are slightly porous and can over time absorb (food) colours. This is considered normal wear and tear of the product and is most prevalent for the light coloured models.
How long will it take me to assemble the NEST®
NEST® can be set up with just 7 screws all tools for assembly are included. It will take approximately 10 minutes to unpack and assemble your NEST®. Do make sure you leave all parts and packaging materials out of the reach of children.
